Hot Fuzz Review

Hot Fuzz Review

What do people actually think about countryside people? Do the police take action in the countryside? How about kids drinking in a pub? Or cruel old people acting innocent when they are up to something? The Director Edgar Wright's  who presented the movie Hot Fuzz has set converted the film by saying that there is more crime going on in the countryside than in a city and there are less police there.

The Producers of the movie have written a Cornetto Trilogy who have made the movies Shaun
of Shaun of the Dead (2004) which has the Strawberry flavoured Cornetto which connotes that there is a lot of blood, Hot Fuzz (2007) has the blue original Cornetto which connotes the Metropolitan Police , and The World's End (2013) and this has the mint flavoured Cornetto which connotes aliens. They have used a strategy for the Trilogy by using Cornetto for certain plots in the three movies.

Simon Pegg is a Police and his character is played as Nicholas Angel, a loyal representative of the Metropolitan Police Station. His colleagues don’t appreciate his work in London so therefore his Boss Bill sends him to Sanford (small village) in the countryside. Angel is then paired up with Danny Butterman (Nick Frost) one of his colleagues. Then, mysterious things happen as soon as Nicholas comes to the country-side and the two of them start to find out what is going on...

Simon Pegg has been portrayed as a comedian in many of the films he has been such as Star Trek, Hot Fuzz, The Worlds Ends, A Fantastic Fear of Everything and many more films. He has won 4 awards for his movie called “Shaun of the Dead”.

Representation Of Women

This shows that men are very powerful as you can see his muscles and women are not exactly as powerful as men and are weak  which also indicates that they can’t do many jobs as men. Another thing is that the shot used in this scene is  a mid shot which would show the clothes and the posture of the person or object in the shot. The color red connotates courage and romance.

This shows that women aren't as powerful as men because it shows that the women is looking up to men as he is taller and that men have more respect. This scene is also showing us that women have a lower status as she needed the man to check the toilet because she couldn't do it herself.

This scene indicates to the audience or the public that women are meant to be at home to do the cleaning up as  they know about the house more than men and the jobs are made for them which also shows that the respect and status of women is really low.

This shows that women are meant to be lead by men and that men decide the future as they are more dominant. The.The women in the scene shows us that she wants the man this tells us that women can only be successful if she has a man in her life.

The over the shoulder shot shows that the women or the lady is opening the door which would indicate to the audience that women are meant to be looking after the house and that they are the ones who are meant to be in the house while the men are away and that women are meant to be housewives which is a typical thought.

Positive and Negative Representation of Women

Representation

In this print advert Taylor Swift is wearing a Cinderella dress which is pink that connotates royalty, power and luxury. In this advert women are represented positively as they can show who they really are such as Taylor Swift wanting to be Cinderella and they have good priority.Furthermore it says ‘The beginning of something magical’ which means that women were once a girl and shouldn't stop believing in fairy tales. This print advert also shows that she is attractive as she is a celebrity. The target audience is mainly for women in their 20 or 30’s.

This print advert has represented women negatively as the lady is cleaning the floor while the man is standing and laughing at her.Women have to do everything when it comes to cleaning. This advert also suggests that men are stronger than women because it says ‘watching housewives since 1957’ means that women haven’t had control of the house as they had to do all the chores. This advert is targeted for women as they need to know what is happening with society, they need to learn to be strong and not be those weak wives that actually listen to their husband.
